Monitoring Belgian COVID-19 infections in work sectors in 2021 [Molenberghs et al. 2021]

Molenberghs et al. used data of the National Social Security Office (RSZ/ONSS) and IDEWE contact tracing data, to analyse recent trends of COVID-19 incidence by employment sector.

In the sectors at level 2 with a minimum of 5,000 workers, the sectors with the highest 14-day incidences on 19 April 2021 were sectors were teleworking is generally not possible (e.g., Manufacturing, Waste collection, Services to buildings and landscape activities, Wholesale and retail trade). The Human health activities and Residential care activities have the lowest incidences, underscoring the effectiveness of vaccination.
