Needs and follow-up of long-term Covid-19 patients [KCE]

Long-COVID is a new phenomenon with many uncertainties. Moreover, new studies do appear at regular time intervals that can contribute to new insights. Therefore the Belgian Healthcare Knowledge Centre (KCE) will follow another approach compared to standard KCE studies. A web page will be created where we publish at regular times the scientific insights related to Long-COVID. KCE will focus on: the definition of long-COVID, the frequency, symptoms, evolution and risk factors. On this web page they will also publish a summary of patient experiences based on an analysis of publicly available sources (media, social media). When large (inter-)national studies with a strong methodology are published a summary (with reference to the original source) will be added this web page. In the autumn of 2021 a classical KCE report will be published. This will include the most recent scientific insights based on the review as well as the results of a qualitative study that will be conducted by the KCE to assess the needs and experiences of patients with long-COVID.
