A quarter of corona patients still suffer from symptoms 6 months after infection [UAntwerpen]

The Corona Study of the University of Antwerp is an online survey, sent out every two weeks. In the 32nd iteration of the survey, questions were included on residual symptoms after confirmed COVID infection.

Among the participants with a confirmed COVID infection, 30% still had at least one symptom two to four months after infection. Four to six months after infection, 23% of participants still reported symptoms. General fatigue and shortness of breath were the most commonly reported. People under the age of 65 reported long-term symptoms more often than people over 65.

The results are available in Dutch: https://www.uantwerpen.be/nl/projecten/coronastudie/resultaten/resultaten-enquete-32/.

The results have also been covered by the media, e.g. https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20210313_94321401.
