COVIMPACT: Long-COVID and the health consequences after three and six months of follow-up [Smith et al. 2022]

Smith and colleagues assessed the health of 2092 Belgian Post-COVID patients using three surveys: one just after the confirmation of a positive COVID-19 test; one three months later; and one six months later. The results indicate that 47% of the respondents report at least one COVID-related symptoms three months after diagnosis. Six months after diagnosis, 32% of the respondents still report at least one symptom. Compared to persons with asymptomatic COVID-infections, lower health-related quality of life was found among Post-COVID patients for both waves of follow-up. 27% of the studied Post-COVID patients reported feeling completely recovered at six months after diagnosis.
