Non-COVID-19 Patients’ Behaviour Towards Emergency Changed During the COVID-19 Outbreak [Flament et al. 2022]

Open Access Emergency Medicine published a research article by Flament and colleagues on changes in the disease severity presentation among non-COVID-19 patients. Data were collected at one Belgian hospital during the first COVID-19 wave of 2020 and during the same months of 2019. Disease severity was assessed using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI). Results indicate that the disease severity was higher for non-COVID-19 patients during the first wave of COVID-19 compared to the prepandemic period.
